At FREESK we are strong believers that we can provide great products and be successful while following highest self-imposed ethical standards.

As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, we support Returning Wave (formerly Balikbayod), an organization that creates after-school, surfing programs that keep the children in school by offering the incentive of surfing lessons, and access to surfboards in Siargao Island, dubbed as the surfing capital of the Philippines. Although Returning Wave is a not-for-profit organization founded in San Francisco, California, the team regularly schedule outreach trips to Siargao to bring school supplies, surfboards and food donations to the kids and local community. We pledge to support their cause, help raise funds for their philanthropic activities by donating 1 USD for every shirt sold through our online shop. Find out more about them here:

Aside from that, all our shirts follow FAIR TRADE PRACTICES to help tackle the social injustice often seen in manufacturing, commonly known as sweatshop labor. This is why our suppliers go further, making transparent their manufacturing supply chain, through an independent audit by the Fair Wear Foundation. The FWF exists to promote fair labor conditions in the clothing industry.

But not just that, numerous of our shirts are Earth Positive® ORGANIC products. EarthPositive® apparel is made to demonstrate the highest possible environmental, social and ethical standards, like LOW IMPACT FARMING & CARBON NEUTRAL MANUFACTURING to name just two. Also, under the organic standard, farmers and agricultural workers are protected by stringent social criteria, total traceability across the entire supply chain, but also by the ban on the use of poisonous pesticides and defoliants which can severely damage the health of farmers and families. These standards also free poor farmers tied into third world debt to chemical companies on the ‘pesticide treadmill’.

As you can see we do our very best to make sure we can sell and you can wear our FREESK shirts with a good conscience, even knowing that 1 US$ of what you paid for each shirt you purchase here supports our partners at Returning Wave aiming to promote education among kids through the love of surfing.
