• Suggestion for gals with pale skin: Have at least one black swimsuit/bikini. When summer starts, wear the black one first while you are still trying to achieve an even-looking tan. Once you start becoming sunkissed, you can switch to more colorful swimwear and prints.
  • And for medium to dark complexion? Bright colours and edgy prints look best on you!
  • If in doubt, go for a smaller size. Loose swimwear does not only look worse than tight swimwear, the swimwear fabric (lycra) expands in water and might possibly result in a malfunction or unwanted exposure as it dangles around loosely when leaving the water. If your swimwear is slightly too tight don´t worry. For one, it still looks better than loose swimwear (and the guys will appreciate it) but also, as mentioned before, the fabric will expand slightly in the water.
  • Swimwear should definitely feel comfortable and be practical but it should also be fashionable unless you just want to clock laps with it. Pick one that has the coverage that you need especially on areas of your body you don’t want to have too much attention on and at the same time exposure for the parts of your body you would like to highlight. If uncertain, your lingerie can be a good reference for what looks good on you.
  • As with all fashion fads, horizontal stripes make you look wider or more voluminous. This can be used to better showcase smaller busts and narrow hips though! Vertical stripes do the opposite and can be used to look leaner.
  • Bandeaus and strapless bikini tops don´t work well with small busts since they make them look smaller. But if you have large busts, it gives just the right amount of coverage and nice shape.
  • If you want to accentuate your assets (i.e. bust/butt), choose bold and big prints as punchy colours naturally draw the eyes to it and big prints (as in florals) make the area appear bigger. However, if you are petite, stick to tiny dainty prints for the design to look proportioned to your frame. Same goes for gals wanting to avert anyone’s attention to their perceived “problem areas”.
  • A cheeky bottom is suitable for all sorts of bums – flat, wide, round or full. Most people think that if you have a big behind, you need to get more coverage. While in reality, all that “extra fabric” is unflattering and actually makes a large butt appear even bigger and the flat ones, nonexistent. Unless of course you’re going for that effect!
  • Show and add some curves to your body by choosing a hipster bottom with side ties which gives you the freedom to adjust it depending on how you like it. Tighten it when you need an instant lift or loosen it up when you feel your hips have become wider.
  • Always remember to balance your proportions. Make sure that if you choose a full coverage bottom, the top pair should show more skin and vice versa.
  • Lastly, whatever you choose to wear, confidence is the key! If you don’t have that, none of these advices will matter.
